Limit or prevent specific land uses and practices

Export
Description

“Land use” is the term used to describe the human use of land. It represents the economic and cultural activities (e.g., agricultural, residential, industrial, mining, and recreational uses) that are practiced at a given place. This NBS promotes the use of land in a sustainable way and limits or prevents land uses and practices that can have potential adverse effects on the environment and human health.

Type of NBS

Better use of protected/natural ecosystems

Level

Protection and conservation strategies in terrestrial (e.g. Natura2000), marine (e.g. MPA), and coastal areas (e.g. mangroves) ecosystems

Approaches
  • 1 Ecosystem based management
  • 2 Natural resources management
